The Trumpet is West Liberty University's newspaper that has been around since 1921. The newspaper needed a rebrand before the paper's 100 year anniversary. The rebranding project was to make the logo and the newspaper as memorable as Ohio State's "The Lantern". In addition, the rebrand had to highlight the small, tight-knit community and location that makes West Liberty so unique.
As a team of three, we had to learn to collaborate and work together to achieve one final goal.
The new logo is modern and adds a personal "Hilltoppers" touch with the slogan "Voice on the Hilltop".  In addition, the colors of the university [black and gold] are used in the logo to add more of a personal touch. The logo makes the paper more inviting, even for outside parties to investigate.

Also designed was a special logo for the paper's 100th year anniversary. The main logo is flexible enough that anything can be placed inside the banner without altering the logo. Logos for the newspaper's sections (News, Culture, Opinions, and Sports) were designed with the approved colors in mind and represent each topic without choosing specific aspects of each one in mind. All aspects of these sections are highlighted.
